We have excellent news for fans of NBC‘s #OneChicago franchise, and excellent-ish news for fans of its Law & Order series.

The network announced on Thursday that it has handed renewals to Chicago Med (returning for Season 10), Chicago Fire (Season 13) and Chicago P.D. (Season 12), as well as Law & Order (Season 24) and Law & Order: SVU (Season 26).

That leaves the Christopher Meloni-led Organized Crime — now airing its fourth season — as the only Law & Order show currently in limbo. An NBC rep says the show is “still in discussion” for the 2024-25 season.

  1. Seriously Organised Crime is amazing and different way of storytelling and I think ratings are good. It’s my favourite of this franchise

    • 100% agree. I actually quit watching SVU when Meloni left. I’m enjoying OC a lot. And I’ve grown to love the new cast on the original Law & Order.

      Reply

      • this feels like a betrayal. we all know Mariska makes SVU. she doesn’t need elliott to lead the show.

        Reply

        • Like it or not, Chris was co lead for the first 8 seasons and his partnership with Mariska what made SVU popular and successful originally. No one can erase that. And Organised Crime is successful with just Elliot& others and it has nothing to do with Olivia.

          Reply

          • Actually, the first 12 seasons, but the rest of this is spot on.

            Reply

          • Chris did help for 8 seasons but for the last 16 seasons Mariska didn’t seem to need his help. When she leaves the show, the show is over. I think Ice T is also about keeping it alive. And I really miss Kelly Giddish and wish she would return. And SVU has always been my favorite of the franchise due to Mariska’s great acting and great writers.

    • Organized Crime is the best show on NBC and very well acted and directed and thought provoking.

      Reply

    • It’s a great show for being a tv show. They need to renew it !

      Reply

    • Same here. I just wish 1 storyline would finish like where yo put mom!

      Reply

    • OMG!!! My thoughts exactly!!! It IS different and is my Favorite! I really hope they keep it!!!

      Reply

    • Organized Crime is better suited for Peaco*ck, IMHO.

      Reply

      • air it wherever just dont cancel it. its my favorite

        Reply

    • I agree. It’s the best of the Law and Orders currently. The others have become increasingly boring.

      Reply

    • I agree!!!! It’s the best!!!

      Reply

  2. You better pick up Organized Crime, that’s all I have to say!

    Reply

    • It’s the most interesting version of “L&O” out there right now, so I hope it’s only a matter of time till we hear about its renewal.

      Reply

    • Leave it to the big wigs to make rotton decisions that affect our viewing pleasure. This show, Organized Crime is the best show on tv. Wth?????

      Reply

  3. I’m not the greatest fan of OC so I wouldn’t be crushed if it was canned. It truly doesn’t know what kind of show it wants to be which is wild considering it’s in Season 4.

That show has changed its identity so many times.

    Reply

    • I would agree, Dee. I cannot stick with it. I will be watching Elsbeth on CBS at 10 pm Thursdays once basketball is done. I would end SVU. It’s long been time.

      Reply

  4. Organized Crime will be renewed. Just minor tweaking that needs to be done for the show.

    Reply

    • Lol minor tweaking like add an actor, fire one… Get a new show runner ? At some point you need to put a fork in it and cancel the show.

      Reply

  5. Please keep them all,, Wednesdays and Thursdays line up is my favorite time

    Reply

  6. Snoozefest!

    Reply

    • So don’t watch. There, problem solved.

      Reply

      • Crapfest!

        Reply

  7. My aunt and I have been binge watching Organized Crime. It really needs to stay because the storylines play out differently over multiple episodes which is a nice change up.

Also really want Criminal Intent back. There was a perfect opportunity for that at the end of OCs3 where they had to bring in Major Case and all I could think about was where’s Eames and Goren???? I remember hearing that the actors are willing to come back.

  8. NBC’s renewal of Quantum Leap in 3…2…1…

    Reply

    • Hopefully they do but this announcement was more likely all about the Dick Wolf shows on NBC. I fully expect CBS to pick up the Dick Wolf’s FBI shows.

      Reply

    • Sorry not happening. So sad!

      Reply

  9. I am so glad they renewed the Chicagos and the Law and Order. Even though Chicago Med and Law and Order SVU are not my favorites.

    Reply

  10. Those are my favorite shows!! Thank you for renewing them!!!

    Reply

  11. Expected OC just has terrible rating retention out of SVU as a lead it. It may get a fith season to get it syndicated but serial shows always end on a short run. It got renewed with less episodes last season and that was before the strike happened it was already on shifty ground and as much as I enjoy it this was a long time coming

    Reply

    • 100 episodes
Typically, this means that enough episodes must exist (88 episodes, or four seasons, is the usual minimum, though many syndicators prefer a fully rounded 100 episodes) to allow for continual strip syndication to take place over the course of several months, without episodes being repeated.

  12. “Law & Order Toronto: CI” for the summer on NBC? It’s currently airing on Citytv since Feb 22nd, 2014.

    Reply

    • I’m sure they’d want it to fill space on Sundays since that’s typically a wasteland for NBC ratings post football.

      Reply

    • Make that February 22, 2024. 😊 Still, yes, NBC should air it! Do a crossover with NYC CI, too. We need Goren/Eames back!

      Reply

  13. Law and order organized crime can go. I don’t like it.

    Reply

    • So for that reason it should be cancelled. Oh that’s not selfish at all, lmao!!!

      Reply

  14. Chicago Fire going into its 13 season is MY all time favorite show. Love PD, Med and SVU of course. Wolf Entertainment has some of the best programs on TV.

    Reply

  15. NBC, please renew Organized Crime! With its constant action, frequent plot twists and continued storylines, it has become my favorite of the L&O trio (though I still watch the others religiously). Chris Meloni is fantastic, and it’s been especially great this season to see the expansion of the Stabler clan. Keep L&O Thursdays whole!

    Reply

  16. I certainly hope NBC uses it’s head and renews Law And Order: Organized Crime, it is way better than Law And Order by a bunch and equal to Law And Order: SVU……………PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ………..That would be a huge mistake to not renew L & O: Organized Crime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Reply

    • Hopefully they will renew it. But “Organized Crime” was already going to be a short season this year, even before the two strikes shortened the entire TV season, so the show may have been in jeopardy already.

If they don’t save the show, at least they can move Stabler back to SVU, since they don’t seem to keep any of the new cops on that show around for more than a season or two as it is.

      Reply

    • Svu is so annoying, it been on too long

      Reply

  17. I don’t understand the issues behind the scenes with OC. It’s not as though this is Dick Wolf (I’m sure he sit backs and counts his money and everyone else takes care of the day-to-day) and co.’s first show/franchise and all the others seem to work well without multiple changes in showrunner which ultimately has impacted what kind of show/tone that they are trying to set with OC. I know that not everyone wants Benson and Stabler together that way but let’s be honest, the highest SVU ratings in an age were when he came back, there are a lot of us who do want them together and to drop OC and leave that whole storyline unresolved would be such a waste. They want to be together – they’ve danced around it long enough; just go there.

    Reply

  18. It’s surprising that Chicago Fire has been renewed. It’s a snooze fest. The writers obviously can’t think of any new storylines.

    Reply

    • I thought that also last night when they showed the promo of someone senior coming after the house in the next episode. Haven’t they done that storyline before? Really like the PD episodes and the way that the storylines this season are not happy ever after and the fact that Voight is taking more of a central role again.

      Reply

      • Voight is the lead actor. The last two episodes are the best Chicago pd had done in years, showing Voight complex character not the one dimensional version they stuck in writing him last few seasons

        Reply

        • I miss the Voight character from the early years.Back when he had bricks of cash in a safe at his house for his disposal.Back when he was wild and would kill people to keep the streets clean.Back when he would break the rules. Now he just bends them. The producers made his character jump the shark when he sent Upton to train with the FBI and he’s been neutered ever since.

      Reply

  19. Is there any reason why The Irrational or Quantum Leap would not have been included in this type of discussion at this time?

    Reply

  20. Good for fans of all those shows.
What I want is a Quantum Leap renewal.
    Please announce that NBC.

    Reply

  21. In my opinion, it shouldn’t be considered the 24th season of “L & O”. The show was off the air for 10 years and when it returned, it returned with mostly a new cast.

    Reply

  22. Chicago fire, Chicago Med , Chicago PD & Law and Order. Never watch the other ones .
    Dave Thoma.

    Reply

  23. I certainly hope NBC is smart enough to pick up and renew Lauren order organized crime. that show is very well done and Chris Malone is so great as stable. Come on NBC get with the program. Certainly glad to hear everything else is coming back though.

    Reply

  24. Come on Organized Crime! And Quantum Leap!

    Reply

  25. Ok all I have to say is Law & Order OC better be picked up for another season. This show is awesome!!
